PeP projects grow out of our commitment to real inclusion and ongoing dialogue with people, families and volunteers. We co-design accessible and personalized experiences, carefully structured in terms of safety and quality, while valuing each person’s autonomy. Our aim is to gradually expand the opportunities available in the region, co-creating training paths and tailor-made activities that give everyone back the pleasure of truly being the protagonists of their own time.
«Mare» Project: a holiday for everyone
The «Mare» Project was born from the Associazione PeP’s desire to make the right to holidays a truly accessible right to people with moderate to severe physical disabilities. We offer inclusive seaside holidays, designed to ensure independence, well-being, and active participation.
What does it consist of
- A seven-day holiday at a fully equipped and accessible campsite.
- Five participants with moderate to severe physical disabilities.
- Ten carers and two assistant-carers, for a 2:1 support ratio.
- Typical seaside holiday activities: sea, swimming pool, relaxation, walks, shopping, aperitifs, and evenings in each other’s company.
- Transportation in adapted vehicles to ensure safety and comfort.
Who we focus on
Adults with moderate to severe physical disabilities who require continuous assistance and barrier-free environments. Each person can enjoy their vacation according to their own pace, desires, and potential.
Our values
Real inclusion, respect, listening, participation, and sharing. We work horizontally, opposing rigid institutional logic and promoting a welcoming, humane, and non-discriminatory environment.
Who we are
A multidisciplinary volunteer group with over ten years of experience in the field of disability and summer holidays. We operate entirely free of charge to ensure that resources go directly to the well-being of the participants.
Why the project is important
In a context of reduced public support, many people risk being excluded from fundamental moments of leisure, socialization, and quality of life. The «Mare» Project offers a respectful, independent, and free vacation experience, with a positive impact on families and care networks.
